Growing up in a multilingual family, inevitably foreign languages have always fascinated me. This passion has accompanied me all my life and I am fortunate enough to be able to say that I do what I love for a living.
I studied foreign languages at secondary school, I then enrolled on a Translation and Interpreting Bachelor’s Degree at Università degli Studi di Udine, Italy. As part of my BA, I spent six months at the Institute of Translation and Interpreting at Heidelberg University, in Germany, under the Erasmus-Socrates Programme. During my time at Heidelberg I was able to polish the interpreting skills gained in my second year at Udine University. In 2004, I graduated from my BA course as a fully qualified liaison interpreter.
After moving to England to further fine-tune my English skills, I enrolled on a MA Degree Course in Translation Studies with the University of Portsmouth. Having enjoyed the audio-visual course we took as part of the programme, I decided to focus my dissertation on subtitling and I actively subtitled an episode from Sex and the City into Italian. I successfully completed my MA Degree in 2010.
I have been managing translation projects, in a variety of subjects, formats and languages since 2009.
I worked as translations manager and in-house translator for Cloudpay, a software company that provides international payroll services. I managed the translations of their website and software in over thirty languages, I also translated these from English into Italian and acted as in-house interpreter during meetings.
For over four years, I held the position of translation project manager for a translation company based in Oxfordshire, handling a variety of translation projects, such as patient recruitment materials for clinical trials, medical surveys, websites, transcreation, transcription, voice-over and subtitling.
I am a thorough, diligent and highly qualified translator, who has translated a wide range of materials, such as IT manuals, software UI and applications, marketing collaterals, videogame consoles, subtitling, patient recruitment materials for clinical trials and websites.
I have been living in the UK since 2004, I am therefore very familiar with the British culture and the nuances of the English language. I also make sure that I keep abreast with the evolution of the Italian language, by regularly travelling to Italy, watching television and reading newspapers in Italian.
