I'm British, a native speaker of English and currently reside in Brazil, where I've been living since 2002. A languages enthusiast, in the past I have studied French, Spanish and Italian to an advanced level, as well as Portuguese, which I now consider my second language.
As well as being a translator from Portuguese to English, I'm a graduate in Modern Languages (Italian) from the University of Hull, England and a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. My experience teaching English in-company has brought me into contact with many different professionals in a wide variety of industries, thus aiding the extension of my vocabulary as a translator.
I have worked in the past in Accounting, in the Human Resources department of a firm in the metallurgical industry, as an English-Portuguese interpreter for an industrial installations company and have recently been involved in the translation and narration of institutional films for a wide range of Brazilian companies.
I also translate articles on Economics into English for potential publication in relevant journals for PhD students at the University of São Paulo (USP).
I enjoy writing very much, once reaching the semi-final of a BBC Sitcom Writing contest. I pride myself on the quality and accuracy of my English and always try to make my translations read as well as possible to a native speaker.
