Professional practices Abolhaggag Bashir endorses's Professional Guidelines.
I am an award-winning journalist with over 21 years of experience in Arabic translation and writing. I won the Arab Journalism Award for best press feature in 2005, 2007 and 2009, and was nominated for the same award in 2011 and 2014. In 2013, I received the Siemen’s Regional Award for Science Journalism (Social Responsibility Category).
Since May 2013, I work as a senior Arabic content writer and Arabic <> English translator for my PR agency's high-profile clients. I handle the Arabic writing of press releases, features, and media reports various events and activities in addition to translating them into Arabic or English.
I am an established speech writer. I draft and translate speeches in Arabic for high-profile officials at Qatar's major institutions and companies such as Qatar Foundations, Qatar Career Development Center, Ministry of Finance, Qatar Finance Center, Ministry of Economy, Qatar National Library, Qatar Shell, among many others.
Prior working and living in Qatar, I was a deputy managing editor at Al-Ahram, Egypt’s oldest newspaper and one of the region’s largest. I also worked as a freelance translator with many international organizations such as WHO, UNEP and USAID and several translation companies in the USA, UK, France, Poland, India, UAE, and Egypt, in addition to his long career as a freelance translator with many leading translation agencies in the USA and UK.
I have a BA (Hons) degree in English Language and Translation from Ain Shams University in Cairo. In 2011 I was certified by the American University in Cairo in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language.
In 2019, I founded ArabicTranscraft for providing high quality Arabic translation and writing for high profile clients.
