Source text - English Tape script – English Version
(Japanese greeting – translated in the Portuguese version)
As many of you know, I started my carrier in Japan, almost exactly 30 years ago. I’d love to be with you today in Osaka, but the least I can do is speak to the finest manufacturing team in our industry. Yours is a team that’s been strengthened even further with the formation of the new Pfizer. If your are here at the first global meeting as a Pfizer Leader, welcome. We look forward to your ideas, your performance, and your leadership.
I know you have a busy agenda this week, so I’ll keep my remark short and focused on three goals. First, to congratulate you for your performance, and to reinforce how critical you are to our customers worldwide. Secondly, to endorse in the strongest way your vision and mission. And third, to speak to you about leadership in these most exciting and demanding of times.
I must begin by telling you how much we appreciate the work you have done, and the work you continue to do. As you know, I travel extensively issued around the Pfizer world. Wherever I go, I make an appointment to visit the front lines of our business, our manufacturing facilities. Wherever I visit, I always sense the professional easel from you and from the people you lead. I know you understand that you are a pillar of our strategic advantage.

Em japonês (duas sentenças somente): Sejam bem-vindos. Meu nome é Mckinnel.
Legenda: Hank Mckinnel, Ph.D.
I am a Brazilian Portuguese native speaker, English native-like, and I have been professionaly working with languages since 1997. I am also a writer, and until now I have 5 novels and a play (a musical).
I have lived my whole life in Brazil. I was born in São Paulo city, the 5th largest city in the world (18 mi inhabitants), but as I love peace and silence, I moved to a very small and quite countryside city (40 thousand inhabitants).
I am married - no kids, thank you - and my husband and I both work at home. I gave English and Portuguese classes for many years, but for the last 2 years I have dedicated myself to translations only.
I love sports, dancing, having my close friends at home. Barbecue is a must. I also adore movies and reading good books before sleeping - actually, the book and my pair of glasses usually end up on my face, my husband is responsible for taking them off me.
As a person, I am good-humored, sensitive, talkative (maybe too much), fair-minded and definitely stubborn and strong-willed (although I do my best to be more versatile and open-minded)
As a professional, I am very confident - I am good at what I do because I love my job and have plenty of experience, not only in translations. As shown in my CV, before becoming a language professional, I exposed myself to different kinds of jobs and work environments - and this is important when translating. I am also extremely responsible and organized - a deadline is a deadline, no excuses, and I like my final work to be clean and consistent.
