Process / workflow description
*Translation Memory and CAT*
Globalizing responds to all your needs by using the most sophisticated assisted translation software (CAT Tools). This means that a client-specific database will be created for each language pair. The database content is available for all further translations and terminology searches. So translations can be done in a shorter time, are more reliable and consistent, which means long-term savings because text repetitions can be charged at a lower price.
And even if your texts have already been translated by previous language providers but you don’t have any Translation memory (TM), we can create a new one through the so called “Alignment process”. Before starting translating we will align your source and target documents creating a new memory which will include not only your translated text but will also keep your approved terminology.
This is a relatively inexpensive procedure which in the long-run will pay for itself.
*The importance of being…Consistent*
Today a very important component of a company brand is the “terminology” which very quickly identifies a company and its related products in the market. Indeed, companies spend more and more time and resources in creating corporate terminology which can easily differentiate their products from others on the market.
But this is only the first step. The true challenge is to keep corporate terminology consistent and updated according to market needs. Also monitoring terminology and the material published is a huge effort.
This lead to the creation of the neologism “Terminology Management” which pointed out the need to gather, approve, organize, store, keep updated and consistent, corporate terms. This is put into operation through the so called computer-based terminology management systems (TMS).
That’s why here at Globalizing we believe that efficient terminology management is the crucial factor for high-quality translations allowing our clients to keep their costs down
Translation process and Quality Assurance
Globalizing quality control process has been finely tuned over thousands of translation projects. Following the basic steps:
1. The process begins with an in-depth analysis of the documents to be translated (subject area, complexity, terminology, technical issues etc).
2. Careful translator selection: each translator is thoroughly chosen according to his/her skills, competence and knowledge of the subject.
3. We assist translators during translation process with guidelines, instruction and everything required solving any issue or problem that may arise.
4. At the following stage, translations are proofread to ensure:
Technical accuracy, terminology, consistency and language nuances.
Grammar and spelling mistakes, omissions and typos.
5. Finally, the files will be implemented, if necessary, according to client’s feedback.
6. TMs and glossaries updated accordingly.
