Russian/English bilingual since the age of four. Finished a secondary school in Baku, Azerbaijan with a gold medal. Graduated from Moscow State Lomonosov University (MSU) with a Ph.D. in physics and maths (1994) and a diploma of English language interpreter and translator (1987).

Started a translator’s career in 1987 with written translations for the Laboratory of Navigation and Control of the Institute of Mechanics, MSU. In the 90s permanently worked as a simultaneous interpreter at the International School of Non-linear Hydrodynamics, MSU.

In 1990 was certified as an English language teacher by Russian-American Training Center ABC and started a teaching career. In 1990-1992 significantly extended the range of translation fields and was intensively working as an interpreter for various international business and scientific delegations.

Having worked for US, UK, and Russian-based non-profits in 1992-2002, obtained an excellent record of project management in the sphere of education and organizational development.

In 2003, as a technical translator, joined a construction company working on a high-profile shopping mall project in Moscow and upon the project completion moved to Moscow Representation of a multinational UK-based construction and project management company in the same translator’s capacity. Left the company after a top management change in January 2008 and joined IKEA Group of companies in Russia. Since then, have been combining a full-time job in the capacity of a translator (currently, Senior Translator) with freelance translations and EFL tutoring.

Personality-wise, I am a very sociable, energetic and well-organized fast-learner. I appreciate professional challenges and emerging opportunities to master new skills and areas of expertise.
