I recently graduated from a degree in German and Japanese at the University of Leeds; my grade was a 2:1. This September I will be commencing an MA programme in Applied Translation Studies, also at the University of Leeds. Although I currently lack professional translation experience, I was accepted onto my MA course on the basis of my skill at translation; I received exceptionally high grades in translation-based aspects of my degree course and have completed modules dealing extensively with sociological and economic vocabulary in both German and Japanese. My written English skills are excellent, and I have also produced subtitles for fan translations from Japanese. It is my intention to work part time as a freelance translator from both of my foreign languages into English.
