I am an ambitious and open-minded German linguist. During my studies for interpreting and translation (undergraduate studies in Germany, postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom) I have obtained and professionalised my translation and interpreting skills, and have specialised in the areas of econmics, finance and technology. Furthermore I have dealt with a substantial number of legal and medical documents.
My MA course at the University of Bradford also involved presentation skills such as preparing and giving presentation on all kinds of subjects, in groups or alone, which helped me to develop my team-working as well as my computer skills. Other course modules were summary writing and Advanced English classes, including essay-writing (for translation theory) and pronounciation classes. I was also in the fortunate position to attend various political courses at the Peace Studies Deparment of Bradford University, which helped me to gain an insight in security- and development studies.
Apart from English and German, I work from French into German and have also studied Spanish and Polish.
I always seek to enhance my language skills by adding new languages and areas of expertise and greatly enjoy facilitating communication between individuals and groups. I am hard-working, reliable and give utmost attention to detail, and apart from that I just love languages!
