Bio
My name is Agnieszka Skwark, I am originally from Poland, but for the last 4 years I have been living in Sweden, Before that I have been pursuing doctoral studies in Geography at the University of Turku. Due to the economical reasons I have moved to Sweden.

Recently I have decided to amplify my knowledge of English by studying for the Bachelor Degree in Linguistics at Dalarna University in Sweden, which I am planning to finish in January 2013. At the same time I am opening my own company, which will focus on the Virtual Assistancy and Translation.

For several years, I have been pursuing studies and research in Economic Geography and Spatial Planning. In Autumn 2004 I started my doctoral studies at Urban Geography at Department of Geography at University of Turku, which for the last few months are effectively suspended. As you can read in enclosed curriculum vitae I am specialised in Urban Geography and Spatial Planning. Previously as my doctoral dissertation's topic I have chosen the concept of factors affecting the location of leisure activities in cities.

During my Master's studies, on the other hand, I focused on the idea of location the pharmacies in my home city – Lodz, Poland. I have been focusing on the location of services and retail, but I am also lively interested on cultural aspects of cities, which was my topic during the Bachelor's research. I have worked on the potential use of the monuments in a part of Old City in Lodz, with retaining their historical heritage.

I am also reasonably proficient in the topics of International Geography (especially first-hand experience in the issues of Central and Eastern Europe), Sociological methods in Geography (demographic studies, surveying methods, economical theories in geography etc.). I can claim also some expertise in the area of GIS (mostly computer-aided cartography, but also some experience in Geocoding and Remote Sensing). I have completed, as well, the Future Studies courses at Turku School of Economics with cooperation with Finland Future Academy and I took a part in two conferences from this organization (in 2006 and 2007). In my doctoral studies I am using the Future Studies methods, like Scenarios and Future Wheels, to research the citizens' preferences of location of leisure activities.

As far as my personal traits and capabilities of research are concerned, I am a highly motivated, inquisitive person. I am determined, yet positive, capable of working under pressure and always willing to deliver results of highest quality. I presume that those aspects of my personality make me an effective and successful translator.
