Translation - English
A human being is a part of the whole, called by us ¨the universe¨, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something seperate from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us.

My name is Sonia Petrocco. I am a Canadian citizen which recently moved to Paraguay South America to work as a volunteer teacher. Since I receive no money for my volunteer work, I am seeking translating employment which I may complete at home. I speak four languages fluently: English, Italian, French and Spanish. My parents immigrated to Canada just before I was born, so I grew up speaking Italian at home. They insisted that we speak proper Italian since there were so many regional dialects even within the community that I lived in Montreal. I was sent to English and French schools being from Quebec, a French speaking province. I hold degrees in Paralegal services and Pharmacy. In Canada I worked for 12 years in the pharmaceutical field dealing directly with clients who spoke many languages. Often, at work, I would speak French one moment to a client and then switch to Italian or Spanish. Since 1998 I have done as much as 70 volunteer hours a month teaching in English. In 2000 I started to learn Spanish when I moved to Ecuador to volunteer. Presently I live in Paraguay. As I am now fluent in Spanish I have begun classes to learn Guarani, the local indigenous language as well. I have traveled throughout Europe, South America, the US and Japan. I feel my broad knowledge of different languages and cultures makes me a valuable asset to companies seeking translating services. I am honest, a hard worker, dedicated and dependable. I am passionate about music and have been singing in my local choir since I was a child and can play various instruments. I am a voracious reader from news items to the classics. Any work which I agree to perform will be done to the very best of my ability. Thank you for the opportunity to work with you and your company.
