I quit a permanent job in the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in 2003 and ventured into the domain of translation and writing.
My nine-year-long stint with the LIC was filled with intense trade union and cultural activities. Though my profile in company did not require me to indulge in linguistic and cultural activities, I managed to build my profile and knowledge in these areas alongside the requirements of my job and started working as an amateur translator.
In the period between 2003 and 2009, I worked on different translation and writing assignments for my clients, with significant volume of commercial translation. During this period, I was also active in different social, literary and cultural activities as a writer, translator and organizer.
