My name is Manuel Dillinger and I'm currently living in a small city in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.
I'm 44 years old (with over 15 years of professional translation experience), happily married to a Japanese wife, and we have a son together.
Being a translator enables me to be home almost all the time, so I can see my son grow up and I can spend a lot of time with him.
That's why I love this job.
I majored in Japanology (Japanese Studies) at LMU (Munich University), with minors in Chinese Studies and Theoretical Linguistics. There are a lot of translators who just narrow-mindedly shift texts from one language into another, not thinking about how the result sounds in the target language. I take into consideration the cultural backgrounds for each language/country and try to convey the real meaning in a way the readers of the translation don't ask themselves what they just read. I have an excellent command of German, Japanese, and English and thorough knowledge of their respective linguistic basics and cultural backgrounds.
You pay good money for translations, so you deserve great results, which I can provide.
