Source text - English The hippocampus is actually a paleocortical structure (thus part of the cortex), deeply embedded within the lower temporal lobe of either hemisphere. It is important for remembering events of one´s personal history and other kinds of what are known as declarative memory, and so it looms large in linguistic activity, as the linguistic system clearly has access to this kind of information-it is an important part of semiology. More than that, it appears that the hippocampus, since it plays an important role in declarative memory (along with higher cortical levels), is of great importance in language learning of the kind commonly done in high schools and colleges, which is quite different from that done by children, who automatically use lower levels of their cerebral cortices, acquiring their native language skills as procedural knowledge rather than declarative knowledge. That difference is directly correlated with the great skill and fluency of people using their native languages as opposed to the clumsiness with which they attempt to navigate their way in a foreign country with the aid of a school taught second language.

La función del hipocampo es la de registrar hechos de la historia personal de un individuo y es en donde se asienta la memoria declarativa. Este procedimiento lingüístico es de gran importancia ya que el sistema lingüístico puede acceder a la información disponible en la memoria; dicha información es una parte importante de la semiología. Se cree que el hipocampo, dado que tiene activa participación en la memoria declarativa (junto con los niveles superiores de la corteza), juega un rol fundamental en el aprendizaje del lenguaje como ocurre en la escuela secundaria y en la universidad. Sin embargo, la situación es diferente en los niños pequeños, quienes de manera automática utilizan niveles inferiores de la corteza cerebral, y adquieren las habilidades lingüísticas de su lengua como conocimiento procedimental más que declarativo. The hair is short; the flippers are long and leathery with nails. An adult male is larger, weighing about 800 pounds with a crest on the top of the head. The female who is considerable smaller, averages 250 pounds.
The Californian Sea Lion has a range from the North American pacific coast: South Vancouver down to Baja California and the Galapagos Islands. They live on islands, but they also live on isolated stretches of rocky beach on the mainland.
They are adaptable to any surrounding and use a variety of habitats. They are very vocal and bark like dogs.

Located in the heart of Manhattan, convenient to all public transportation. A short walk to the Port Authority Bus Terminal, Penn Station or Grand Central Terminal, and a short stroll to the major shopping district featuring Macy´s, Herald Center, Lord & Taylor, The Manhattan Mall and B&H Photo.
The Observatory is open daily year-round from 8:00 AM to Midnight, with last sales at 11:15 PM. The Ticket Office can be found in the newly renovated Visitors Center, located on the second floor. On weekends and national holidays the Tickets Office opens at 8:00 AM.
SOUTH
To the South the City takes on a less lofty character, where many of its historical buildings are dwarfed by the soaring Wall Street structures. Visible in the center foreground is the appropriately-named Faltiron Building, and south from there the elegant Woolworth Building, once the tallest building in the world at only 60 floors

La ciudad adquiere una fisonomía menos sofisticada hacia el sur. Allí, algunos de los edificios más importantes se ven opacados por la imponente Wall Street. Se observa el bien conocido edificio Flatiron y más al sur está el elegante edificio Woolworth, que alguna vez fue el más alto del mundo con sus tan sólo 60 pisos.
