GENERAL
This chapter deals with the safety/risk assessment of the equipment and with the safety precautions an operator must take to avoid or eliminate possible hazardous situations.
The following safety precautions form a supplement to the standard naval safety regulations applicable to electronic equipment.
LOCAL/REMOTE OR EMERGENCY SWITCHING
Always ensure that the equipment is never switched-on or activated if an hazardous situation may arise due to sudden movement of sensors and/or weapons or with respect to microwave and/or laser radiation (see also para 4 of this chapter).
Emergency switching or entering the battle short mode will bypass some protection circuits, which may lead to hazardous situations.
Therefore, in this case, an operator should always follow exactly the procedures in this manual for these operating modes.

En este capítulo se trata la seguridad y evaluación de riesgos del equipo, así como las precauciones de seguridad que debe adoptar el operador para evitar o eliminar posibles situaciones de peligro.
