About me
I am Giulia Fregoli and I have graduated on June 2009 with a MA in Literary and Technical-Scientific Translation. The reason why I decided to apply for a collaboration with you is first and foremost my strong will to work in an environment where the provision of the most accurate service to the committents is one of the main aims and values. Moreover, my main objective is not only to put into practice the skills I have acquired up to now, but also to improve my abilities and myself in a working environment. During the MSc I developed a keen interest on sustainability principles and especially in relation to sustainable measures to adopt at the venue level. My dissertation project, a 20.000 words paper in English, was based on the analysis of conference tourism and the sustainability measures to adopt in order to organise a ‘green’ or sustainable event. My BA in Foreign Languages gave me the chance to come into contact with manifold people coming from different cultures and also to study English, Spanish and Japanese as well as the cultures of the countries in which these languages are spoken. My strong will to visit new countries and to make new experiences led me to win an Erasmus scholarship, thanks to which I could spend six months in Salamanca, Spain, practicing the language I was specialising in and also improving my networking skills. The working experience I have completed during my MSc consisted in one experience as Conference Assistant for the Limmud Jewish Education Day held at Bournemouth University and a voluntary experience as event assistant at the ISAF Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta. Both experiences helped me to put into practice my organisational abilities along with customer service provision. During my task as conference assistant I had to support the conference manager in manifold tasks ranging from provision of customer care for conference attendees to assistance for conference facilities setting and final cleanliness, and this allowed me to practice my multitasking skills. I was able to demonstrate a very positive, friendly attitude along with a strong will to learn and to acquire new skills and to do my best to deliver a good experience to customers. My experience as an event assistant allowed me to put into practice my customer service skills and also to offer my multilingual skills to the sailing teams’ members. Moreover, these experiences allowed me to improve my ability to prioritise my duties, to work under pressure and to successfully meet deadlines. I would also describe myself as a discreet, reliable, friendly and flexible person. I hope that my knowledge of foreign languages and translation, my academic achievements, my personal experiences, along with my personal characteristics, make me an excellent candidate for this position.
Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to discussing my application with you.
Yours truthfully,
Giulia Fregoli
