CV:

Nicanor Loreti is an Argentinean film journalist, who also works as professional translator and screenwriter, both in Engli8sh and Spanish. He’s the Southamerican correspondant for the US horror film magazine Fangoria, and has also written for North American mags like Shock Cinema, Psychotronic Video and the website Fear Zone, where he has a monthly column called South of the Border.
He also collaborates with the Argentinean magazines RSVP (where he writes about films), La Cosa (where he publishes interviews with people related to the film world), Jedbangers (a rock magazine, where he does interviews and has a monthly column called Scream for Me!), Comiqueando and a few others.
He has also written about Argentinean sci-fi for the English movie magazine Death Ray.
He wrote a few films too, including the upcoming theatrical horror feature Lo Siniestro, which will open in March in Argentina. Plus, he’s responsible for the book Cult People (for English publishers Headpress) which will come out in early 2009.
In 2007 he was nominated for the prestigious TEA award as “Best Young Journalist”.

TRANSLATION SERVICES:

2006
-He translated the screenplay and the dialogues (from English to Spanish) for a western called “Left for Dead” (which he also co produced). It was set in Mexico and the characters were required to speak both languages. Lions Gate released it on DVD in the US in 2007.

2007
-He also was in charge of the translation of the screenplay for “Breaking Nikki” (from Spanish to English), a local production shot for the US DVD market.

2008
-He translated the screenplay and the budget (from Spanish to English) of the project “Paramilitary Film Noir”, for director Javier Diment. It’s a documentary that will start production in May 2009.

-He also did the Spanish to English translation of “Memory of the Dead”, another screenplay, for director Javier Diment.
