Bio

I graduated from Northwestern University in June, with a B.S. in Journalism and a second major in Spanish. With these two majors, I have quite a bit of experience both writing and editing. This past year, I worked for six months at an American newspaper, The Indianapolis Star, where I was expected to report and write at least one 500-word story each day. I can write fast, and write well. I have also worked as a translator with other organizations, most notably with Riesgo Cero, an argentine non-profit organization fighting AIDS. I worked with this group as a volunteer, translating medical documents and presentations from Spanish to English and vice versa. As an assistant at the Northwestern University Library's Rare Book Room, I also was in charge of cataloguing the Spanish Play collection. I translated the titles to English, and later read the records to correct any errors. In addition, during my five months of study at the University of Buenos Aires, I took a course dedicated to the process of translation. In this class, I read Walter Benjamin's theories of translation and learned how to translate a work without interfering with the message and style of the author.
