Spanish to English: keteke in the Media
Translation - English keteke in the Media
The holidays have come, and with them the famous year-end countdowns. Media outlets are rushing to list the most relevant events that have happened in the last 365 days. For us, without a doubt, it's been the birth of keteke and its incredible reception. But if we had to point out an accomplishment that really has eclipsed the world of keteketiano, it would be the duel between Miki and Berto to have dinner with the muse of... pilinguismo? Well, that's what Berto calls Paris hilton. This has been, without a doubt, the most talked about recent event. The arrival in Madrid of the rich heiress hasn't left any media outlet indifferent. They've all echoed the news. To prove the impact, you only have to see this news summary we've prepared. Have a look, guys, it's excellent. :o)

Years of experience: 18. Registered at ProZ.com: Dec 2008.
I graduated from Northwestern University in June, with a B.S. in Journalism and a second major in Spanish. With these two majors, I have quite a bit of experience both writing and editing. This past year, I worked for six months at an American newspaper, The Indianapolis Star, where I was expected to report and write at least one 500-word story each day. I can write fast, and write well. I have also worked as a translator with other organizations, most notably with Riesgo Cero, an argentine non-profit organization fighting AIDS. I worked with this group as a volunteer, translating medical documents and presentations from Spanish to English and vice versa. As an assistant at the Northwestern University Library's Rare Book Room, I also was in charge of cataloguing the Spanish Play collection. I translated the titles to English, and later read the records to correct any errors. In addition, during my five months of study at the University of Buenos Aires, I took a course dedicated to the process of translation. In this class, I read Walter Benjamin's theories of translation and learned how to translate a work without interfering with the message and style of the author.
