I just want to win an Oscar for snark, but that's not translation specific. Or alternatively, I would like Oscar the Grouch, to ensure a pretty workspace.

I go far beyond the extra mile in getting customers educated to make sensible choices, in order to get their actual translation & associated processes (e.g. video subtitling, DTP, etc.) needs fulfilled in the most expeditious and cost-effective manner.

Sometimes this means getting clients for life. If these don't have the time and/or the patience to learn and decide on their own, they tell me "You are my expert in these things. Do whatever you consider the best option, and send me the bill!"

Some learn to rely on me for referrals to translators working in other languages, specialty areas I don't cover, related services, etc.

Finally, the bottom feeders learn to take their chances with free online machine translation. If it doesn't stick, they'll hire me later to redo the whole thing from scratch.

Best homework help while working...

:-D

Helping my kids with their homework is definitely the worst moment of my day (since it takes time and I cannot work as I want and need)
