This is just to let you know that CafeTran will remain available in its unlimited version to all ProZ.com paying members (Standard included) until March 31st, 2022. After that date, the tool will only be part of the Plus package as it was originally. Compare membership packages »

Thank you, Jean and Mike.

In the meantime, I've bought the professional membership and the full version has been activated. However, today, after having changed the UI appearance and restarted, I got the "old" alert that I would need to buy a license in order to use a large memory.

I managed to revert to a previous state of my system and don't get that alert any more now, so it seems that my license is considered valid.

Anyway this has reminded me of a more general concern that I have had: With the licensing procedure via ProZ I haven't received a license file directly from Cafetran, and my Cafetran account has no connection with the license that I have. So what if in a year or two I would not renew my "professional" ProZ membership?

How would I be able, in that case, to prove (to Cafetran) that I indeed owe a full license (and to get a "new" license file in case of an issue with my installation)?

Of course, I am assuming that the license will continue to be valid even without my continued ProZ membership, or without being able to connect to ProZ via CTE...

Until a few days ago the free CTE license was still included in the list of benefits of the "normal" ProZ membership. As far as I can see, that's no longer the case.

I am new to CAT tools (and couldn't make up my mind) so I jumped on the opportunity.
It is very intuitive to use and has a very nice environment to work with.
I still have to learn a lot but I am already very satisfied.

Please make sure that your operating system is a modern 64-bit system (Windows, Mac or Linux). New versions of Java do not support 32-bit systems anymore.

You *did* install the latest version, didn't you?

Your problem is very strange, since the newest (actually, not so new anymore) versions of CafeTran Espresso come with their own, embedded java.

Hi, its this offer still available?
I recently renewed my proz membership after it had expired, so I figured I'd try out CafeTran. However, even after logging into my proz account on it, it still tells me that I am only on the free version and prompts me to buy a licence. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Whether this is an altruistic act or a rather commercial one, I believe it still opens to the opportunity for many people to work with a new CAT Tool that they may have not been able to use otherwise and it still counts as a beneficial experience, so thanks! :)

You may have increased the scale of display in Windows Display settings, which can cause the choppiness on the icons. If you have a recent update of Windows 10, you can increase the font size of the text elements via Ease of Access Windows settings instead (not by scaling in Display settings). Then, if you wish to change size of CafeTran fonts, please do it through the menu View > Font > User interface. You can also change the icons color via View > Colors > Icons color.

I enjoy using CafeTran quite a bit and has given me a lot of productivity over these past several months. However, I have to say that after I downloaded the update (from 10.6 to current 10.7.4) and got the PROZ access for COVID19, the new version has these very choppy looking graphic buttons. The text looks fine but those buttons look really bad guys! Is this an update situation or issue?
Otherwise, keep CafeTran chugging along!

Thanks a lot for letting us use CafeTran unlimited. I installed it and now exploring it. However, I encountered one issue: when I try to log into Proz.com, CafeTran app is not responding and I have to force quit it. I tried several times - the same thing happens.
