Most of my new clients now come from ProZ.com, and I have to say that fine-tuning my profile has generated some pretty good "matches" (clients that are willing to pay my rates for specific subject areas). I think ProZ.com is a great source of new clients and it is also hugely helpful in avoiding bad payers.

I've been a member since 2005, Plus member since it started. As it's my only marketing channel I'm quite positive about it. I attended a ProZ.com conference in Eiffel Tower in 2010 and met Henry and other ProZ.com people there. I'll use ProZ.com services for as long as I translate. For me, the most useful function is the Blue Board. All of my clients have come via ProZ.com, both agencies and direct clients, even if not directly via ProZ.com but as recommended by my clients.

In less than a month, I have had more jobs than ever and I have already earned back the membership cost. If you are a quick learner, you will find more work than you can handle in a relatively short time!

A sound return on investment, I would say. :)

I am convinced that without ProZ.com, I would never have made the contacts I need to work as a full time professional translator. About 90% of my clients have come from ProZ.com. I really don’t have a presence there and barely open the page, but the directory works and the right people have contacted me over the years.

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one. I left my "safe" English teaching job and recontacted my old clients. It didn't take long and I was soon back on track. Thanks to ProZ I have made contacts with new agencies around the world. I am lucky that I am high in the directory for my language pair. I get more direct requests than I can keep up with and the rest of my jobs are referrals.

I am really glad this web site exists!

In 2023, I began shutting down my freelance translator work. At 77, I am embarking on new challenges, but always related to the linguistic skills that ProZ helped me to hone.

I began translating professionally in 1992 and I was one of the first adherents to ProZ.com. I have watched it grow and expand, and it has been a great help to me, especially in the early years in garnering clients that I worked with for nearly two decades in some cases. The KudoZ terminology tools were essential in helping me build my own glossaries for the types of jobs I was involved in. I recall the names of colleagues that I never had the chance to meet in person but with whom I interacted on the KudoZ platform. It has been a truly rewarding experience.

In my case, an agency found me on ProZ.com and I got a dream job (10-year full time translation project) which changed my life completely. Later, I found a job post on ProZ which put me into $10K book translation project. Just 2 big ones in years but these were real jewels.

When I first started providing freelance translations I found ProZ.com a great source of information and helpful in many ways. Now it is part of my daily routine. To me ProZ.com not only means job offers, but it is a community and knowledge base and makes me enjoy work even more. ProZ.com has opened for me a completely new market, complementary to my existing one. I've learnt to apply new tools for marketing, business (software and systems) and translation.

Kudoz to ProZ.com and their Blueboard for translator and agency ratings!! It's worth being a paying member. I just let a company with late payment know that I was aware they had some negative feedback and that I would add mine by the end of the week if I did not receive payment by then. I also started following their profiles on LinkedIn. 5 minutes later I received my payment via Wise!
