Other (how many dominants can one have?) Dec 19, 2016

My interests have changed with age: I used to love photography but then I started losing my sight and my passion faded away. I’ve been listening to music (mostly jazz, classic and opera) my whole life. My other love is cooking and everything food related (books, TV programs, shows).

Cooking.
At least you can eat your works.
I am a translator, not an artist.

writing is my #1 (now) Dec 19, 2016

I love writing but as far as art goes, I am a mosaic art fan, though I hardly have any time to practice it.
Other than that, I like crocheting but definitely no time for that either.

ps: This poll is very timely. I have written a book inspired by translators and their creativity (the way it's manifested in their work but also in what they do in their spare time). The book has been released today and it's called "Tapping Into Translators' Creativity"....

Photography and video Dec 19, 2016

From photography in the 1960s, to black-and-white film & print home lab processing in the 1970s, to Super-8 film-making in the 1980s, to VHS video making in the 1990s, to digital video post-production in the 2000s.

All these steps fit nicely with translation, as when I got into subtitling, I could cover the whole nine yards, and deliver finished interactive DVDs.

Yet the only formal course I ever took in this area was on Live Theater Audio.

Horse riding Dec 19, 2016

I don't go to the gym, but I ride horses twice a week. I even compete at national level (showjumping).
Besides that, I like painting and drawing!

Multiple! Dec 19, 2016

As a teenager, I was considering becoming a translator, a dietician, a writer, a singer, an actress, and a couple other things. I decided I couldn't have 7 professions so I "settled" for translation, given my multilingual background. But I feel I have many talents, I feel an afinity for the term "Renaissance (wo)man" and have studied a lot of different courses and topics. Translation is my main income, but I need to diversify in order to satisfy my brain's constant hunger for variation!

I currently sing as a hobby (and have 5 songs in one of my YouTube channels), cook for pleasure and health, blog and tweet (just started a translation-specific blog based off my experiences from studying Health Coaching, in www.MentalEnergy.se) and totally love getting in front of the camera with Facebook live (public videos in English on Tuesdays and Spanish on Thursdays from my FB profile, https://www.facebook.com/tishaklemetz) and also recorded videos on YouTube. I love being creative!

More then one Dec 19, 2016

I love to write, and I also love design. Recently I studied landscape design, which combines my love of design with my love for plants, for 7 years and certified as a landscape designer.

When I was younger I aspired to be a photographer, but I was too impatient to learn to create what I visualized, so I ended up being a prolific pinner on Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/livinginvincibl/). Collecting other people's beautiful photographs, far better than anything I could produce, gives me creative satisfaction without having to do all the hard work.

Astronomy/Physics/Stargazing Dec 19, 2016

I love science in general, but specifically physics, astronomy - astrophysics. I am studying for a BA in Physics and Mathematics at the Open University - loving it, but really hard to find the time!

Although a complete beginner at the moment, I love photography, so starting to do some astrophotography - putting together two things I like! I still have a lot to learn though...

Apart from that I play piano

Apart from that I play piano (very badly, so just for myself to relax sometimes).

I suck at all of those things. Dec 19, 2016

I tried to learn how to knit, and I bet that half-finished scarf is sitting somewhere around the house. My grandmother was quite skilled, but it seems I didn't inherit her talent.

But I love baking, and it's the right time of the year for baking cookies. Is it a creative hobby? I love decorating my cakes.
