Anna invited me to work for O. Henry translation (Eng->Pol, ~13.5k words) at €0.25/word, 5-7 day timeline.
I was suspicious, tried to reverse search her, couldn't find her. Emailed her several times to deliver proof that she is from Stepes.
She replied after four days that the project was confirmed, but she was out of office.

I would never engage with a gmail address that offers a suspiciously high rate and doesn't deliver proof of her existence. This is almost certainly a scam.

1) O'Henry has been fully translated into Polish and why on earth would somebody need re-translation?
2) No serious organization contacts translators using gmail
3) €0.25/word is far too good for ANY translation, not to mention a literary one
4) Literary translations are NEVER done in a haste, so 5-7 days is ridiculous
Moreover, the request to register at the payment portal suggests that this is just one of well known scams (prepayment or any other within that line).
Just trash her email and forget.

If you set up an account for payment you will be asked to pay first to release your payment, or an account opening fee, or under any pretension.
Please don't pay anything. Whatever you pay, you will never get back. This offer is screaming to be a scam.

In UK it couldn't legally operate without being authorised by the financial regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Any legitimate bank / payment provider will have a reference to its FCA authorisation on its website - none quoted for this Unity Crown Union.
Short version: yet another pair od scammer twins - a fake client and its fake payment provider - giving a fake 'urgent job'.
Too late to do anything about it, except cut your losses and be more careful in the future.
