Acutrans is looking for a Korean linguist to join our freelance team (EN> KO). The linguist will be asked to translate medical (80%), legal (10%) and other (10%) types of documents.

We are looking for linguists who are native Korean speakers only. Linguists should have at least 5 years’ experience with medical translations specifically with varied experience in other fields. We are looking for a linguist with an undergraduate or graduate degree in linguistics/language/translation and/or a comprehensive CV that can prove relevant experience.

We are looking for linguists who use CAT tools—SDL Trados Studio (2015 and later) is preferred but MemoQ will also be accepted—and are willing to work with glossaries, style guides, termbases, TMs, etc. LINGUISTS APPLYING MUST USE CAT TOOLS.

As stated previously, the majority of the translation projects will be medical and may contain but are not limited to: medical records, community health materials, discharge instructions, HIPAA compliance policies, health care privacy practice policies, informed consents, and clinical research/briefs. Other documents linguists may be asked to translate include but are not limited to: divorce/marriage certificates, birth certificates, financial aid applications, educational materials, depositions, organization newsletters, catalogs, and brochures.

LINGUISTS APPLYING MUST BE ABLE TO KEEP CHICAGO, USA BUSINESS HOURS WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Requests for translations come in throughout the day and RESPONSIVENESS IS INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT for our collaboration. All candidates must be able to respond to emails within 1-2 hours between the hours of 07:00 and 17:00 central daylight time (7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CDT), Monday through Friday. Linguists who do not wish to keep these hours throughout the year (with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day) will not be considered.
