U.S Naval Hospital Okinawa (USNHO) requires translation services for medical documents written in Japanese to be translated to English. Medical treatment facility (MTF) beneficiaries who are referred for care at Japanese hospitals and clinics are handed official medical documents written in Japanese. In order to sustain continuity of care for the patients, these medical documents need to be translated into English prior to entry into the patient’s official medical record.
The full range of medical translation service including, but not limited to: histories and physicals, operation reports, consultations/referrals, laboratory reports, radiology reports, progress notes, encounter notes, narrative summaries, outpatient notes, treatment records, inpatient records, autopsy/accident autopsy reports, transport summaries, and Japanese City Office medical forms/documents.
The tasks to be performed consist of translation of materials that are in MS-Word, Adobe Acrobat, and other popular software formats. Occasional translation from hard copy documents may be required, but in most cases materials will be provided in MS-Word or Adobe Acrobat
Please provide a translation quote per Japanese character (source) and/or proofreading quote per English (target) word.
Estimated number of Japanese (Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana) characters per year is 295, 800 or 162,690 numbers of translated English words.
