What languages is the world searching in?

Googles official blog reported a new Google experiment called the Search Globe, a visual display representing one day of Google searches around the world. This visualization shows the countries and languages the world is searching in. People searching on the Internet are doing it in hundreds of different languages.

The visualization is not particularly readable for those who want accurate statistics and just provides a superficial visual illustration of the data. There are no numbers on the graph, no color legend and you cannot zoom in on a specific country to see which languages that country is searching in.

Google has open sourced this platform, so we will probably start to see similar globes that chart beer consumption worldwide, which countries drink the most Coca Cola or eat the mostBig Macs, and other similar data.
