Some people love the month of March for the college basketball craziness, others love it for the Tournament of Books.  Me?  I’m pumped up at this time of year for the Best Translated Book Award.  25 works of international literature in English translation that have been deemed the best of the bunch from the previous year in publishing.

I used to think 25 titles was too many.  Now I know that it’s not enough.

For those unfamiliar with the award, here’s how it’s described on the official website:

Launched by the Weblog Three Percent in 2007, the Best Translated Book Awards aim to bring attention to the best original works of international fiction and poetry published in the U.S. during the previous year. Starting in 2011, each winning translator and author a $5,000 cash prize and a plaque.
