MS Office ofrece un conjunto de aplicaciones que usamos a diario en combinación con la herramienta de memoria de traducción de nuestra preferencia o exigida por el cliente. Las promesas de un trabajo más rápido usando una o varias memorias de traducción muchas veces parecen no cumplirse por obstáculos de formato, frases mal segmentadas, textos que no se deben traducir, columnas a traducir o a dejar intactas, etiquetas a raudales, entre otros y que generan fuertes dolores de cabeza al profesional. Esta capacitación en línea pretende dar 15 sencillas estrategias para aprovechar al máximo la eficacia de las memorias de traducción preparando de antemano los documentos en formato MS Word, MS PowerPoint y MS Excel entregados por el cliente.

Se repasarán las teclas de acceso rápido más útiles para el traductor. Se aprenderá a seleccionar textos específicos.

• Required: Windows® 7, Vista, XP or 2003 Server
• Required: Internet Explorer® 7.0 or newer, Mozilla® Firefox® 3.0 or newer or Google™ Chrome™ 5.0 or newer (JavaScript™ and Java™ enabled)
• Internet Connection Required: Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection
• Recommended: Dual-core 2.4GHz CPU or faster with 2GB of RAM (recommended)

For Mac®-based Users:

• Required: Mac OS® X 10.5 – Leopard® or newer

To Use VoIP (microphone and speakers or headset):

• NOT required: Microphone - attendees can communicate with the trainer through incorporated chat.

Recommendations

• For the visual section of the training course, we recommend that you have a 64kbps link. This means using an ISDN line or Broadband. Wireless connection is NOT recommended.
• For the audio section of the training course, we recommend that you have a headset or speakers.
• We recommend that you log in 30 minutes in advance of the start time to prepare for the training course.

Courses will be open half an hour before the start time. Please login before the start time to ensure that everything on your system is working correctly.

Bio: Traductora de inglés y francés al español. Estudió Traducción e Interpretación en la Escuela de Idiomas Modernos de la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Trabajó en la agencia de noticias United Press Internacional, con sede en Caracas, Venezuela, como editora-traductora de las noticias a distribuir al mercado de habla hispana.
En Buenos Aires fue colaboradora del diario Clarín, donde realizó traducciones para sus diversas secciones; en este diario argentino, destaca la traducción de 187 documentos relacionados con el gobierno de Isabel Martínez de Perón y los primeros meses de la dictadura militar en Argentina divulgados por el gobierno de Estados Unidos.
Desde hace 20 años se ha desempeñado ininterrumpidamente como traductora independiente con diversos clientes internacionales.
Ha participado como disertante en las III Jornadas Iberoamericanas de Terminología, organizadas por la Red Iberoamericana de Terminología y la Facultad de Lenguas de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, Iberoamericano de Terminología (agosto 2001), en la IV Feria del Traductor e Intérprete 2001 y Primer Programa de Actualización Profesional, Asociación de Traductores Públicos e Intérpretes de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (ATIBA) - Internet como recurso terminológico (sept., 2001) y dictado dos talleres de capacitación en ATIBA (traducción de páginas Web y traducción para los medios de comunicación).
