Description
This workshop is designed for advanced Atril DejaVu users. Participants will learn main advanced tricks and features so that they will be able to completely exploit the software and learn how to deal with any file format supported by it. You will learn how to build your own TMs or exchange them with users of other CAT TOOLS. You will also learn how to build and manage a Glossary (also called Terme Base). See the program section below for a complete detail of the topics to be covered during the session.
Target audience
This course is addressed to professional translators who are samewhat familiar with the basics of the software and wish to learn some new tricks in order to enhance and increase their own translation daily productivity with Atril DejaVu
Learning objectives
After attending this webinar the learner will be able to create his own project with Atril DejaVu . He/She will learn how to manage a TMX TM format received from an agency and convert it into a Atril DejaVu format - Any Term List from a MS-Excel or MS-Word file can be converted into a Atril DejaVu TermBase file and using it with one's own projects.
Prerequisites
Participants should already be familiar with the basic features of the software

  • How create a project template with Atril DejaVu
  • How to import and export TMs from other CAT TOOLs (such as Trados or Wordfast)
  • How to manage TermBases (import and export of terminology from MS-Excel or MS-Word files into Atril DejaVu
  • How to connect external Machine Translation (Microsoft Translate, Google Translate, DeepL and so on)
  • Getting familiar with some useful advanced settings

Bio: Paolo Sebastiani is an English-Italian, French-Italian and German-Italian Professional Translator with over 20 years of experience in Italy and abroad. He obtained his first University degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Urbino in 1991 and his second University degree in Political Studies, at the same University in the year 2000. He founded his Translation Agency, Eurolingua, in 1994 and since then has been working as translator, interpreter and Cat-Tool official Trainer. He has organized many in-person training courses about Wordfast, SDL Trados and Atril Dejavu in different Italian towns and as a ProZ.com Professional Trainer, has run many Wordfast-PRO, Wordfast-Classic and Wordfast-Anywhere training sessions for progressive knowledge acquisition with excellent feedbacks.
