I have an M.A. in Russian, and I specialize in IT, marketing, and academic translations.

As of January 2018, I work in three main areas in both of my language pairs. The first part of my business consists of the localization of software, including games, SAP enterprise management software, and other IT-related texts. My M.A. in library and information science has provided me with a useful technical background that supports this IT specialization. The second part focuses on marketing and business-related texts, including light legal and administrative texts, product catalogs, and other communications that seek to engage business customers. And the third part focuses on the translation and editing of academic articles in the humanities and social sciences for both publishers as well as individual graduate students and academics. My B.A. and M.A. degrees in Russian provide me with academic background not only in the Russian language, but in Russian history, literature, culture, and society. This knowledge is vital when translating and editing scholarship about Russia.

Recent projects have included:

1. The balance sheet and tax returns for a German technology startup.

2. The character dialog of a text-based adventure game.

3. A catalog of building materials.

4. An academic journal issue devoted to problems in Russian higher education.

5. The website of a German brewery and malt house.

6. SAP software help files.

Let me help you tackle your next translation or proofreading project. Using my cultural knowledge and academic training, I can help you avoid embarrassing mistranslations that can be hard to avoid when dealing with texts not just written in another language, but produced by a different culture.

My home office computer equipment includes two laptop computers (a Mac and a PC, allowing me to run a variety of CAT software, including SDL Trados Studio 2015). I perform daily backups, and I have high-speed Internet access. With each freelance project I undertake, I guarantee high quality work delivered on or before the deadline and prompt responses to your phone calls and e-mails.
