Bio
In 2007, I graduated from Smith College, a highly-regarded women's institution in Massachusetts, with a cum laude degree in Italian Studies. In 2008, I received dual Italian citizenship, making it possible for me to move back to Florence, where I had studied for a year during my undergraduate education. I have worked as an ESL teacher in Princeton, New Jersey, done subtitling work for Florence's Festival dei Popoli annual film festival, and have held the position of full-time shop assistant at Florence's bussling and multilingual Mercato Centrale. I now work part-time as a tour guide for a small American company, leading gastronomic tours of Florence. Over the past few years I have done translations from Italian to English, from inspection summaries for an environmental engineering practice, curriculum vitae, and web sites, to academic essays for friends and acquaintances. I feel humbled by the greater experience of others in the field, but, step by step, hope to continue fine-tuning my own translation skills, transforming a hobby into a career.

I have a rock-solid worth ethic, a healthy respect for my (current) limits, and a developed sensitivity to the cultural and linguistic nuances present in every act of translation. I am creative, self-motivated, resourceful and deadline-oriented, with a lot to prove, and the time and will at my disposal to prove it!
