A native German linguist, I have lived in and travelled through various English-speaking countries and am now living in France since three years.
I am currently working as a trilingual assistant in a Franco-German law practice in Paris where I come in touch with at least two different languages and cultures every day. Communicating in more than one language at a time in a very professional way, as it is required in the legal field, on the phone, personally as well as on paper, demands not only the knowledge of theses languages, but also awareness of the importance of intercultural differences and the capabilities of surmounting them.
I have worked as a translator mostly in the humanities, specifically in the fields of sociology, history and cultural studies. During the past two years, I have been able to gain siginificant experience in translating legal texts, such as contracts and experts' reports, but also general correspondance and legal opinions.
In my work as a translator, I am precise and remain as close to the text in the source language as possible while at the same time respecting the linguistic and conventional features of the target language.
Naturally, I respect the deadlines of the translation jobs I accept.
