Carolina Orloff is a writer and translator from Buenos Aires currently based in Scotland. She has studied Literature and Philosophy at the University of York, and Translation at the University of Leeds. In 2010, she completed her PhD in Latin American Literature at the University of Edinburgh, where she is working as a postdoctoral researcher. Her research, dealing mostly with contemporary Argentinian literature, cinema and politics is available in Spanish and in English. Her book on Argentinian writer Julio Cortázar has been published in London (Tamesis, 2013) and in Buenos Aires (Godot, 2014). As well as being a published academic and poet, Carolina has worked as a translator for over a decade, with her translations appearing in the UK, Argentina, Mexico and Spain. Her publications as a translator include: Una vida robada (A Stolen Life) by Jaycee Dugard (Buenos Aires: Cute Ediciones, 2012), Kedron Barrett, Philipp Sperrle ed. (Berlin: Jovis, 2011), Abroad, Luis Feduchi ed. (Berlin: Jovis, 2011), and as a co-translator: Citamblers/Citámbulos. A Guide to the Marvels of Mexico City. The Incidence of the Remarkable, Ana Álvarez, Valentina Rojas et al. (Mexico City: Cultura sin Fondo, 2006), and Citámbulos: Mexico City, Ana Álvarez, Valentina Rojas et al. (Berlin: Jovis, 2008).
