I was born and Russia but moved to the United States as a child spending my formative years in the northeast of the country.
I moved to Italy in 2010 after marrying an Italian.
I earned a BSc in Geosciences from Binghamton University, NY USA (focus Experimental Petrology with a minor in Russian Studies)
and an Msc in Geosciences from Virginia Tech, VA USA (focus Geochronology, Petrology, Tectonics).
I worked several years as a Research Assistant for an Oil and Gas Consulting company and spent three years studying for a PhD in Medical Geology (focusing on the effects of asbestos on the lungs) at Stony Brook University, NY.
I spent several years working for an Oil and Natural Gas Consulting Company (where I was able to try my hand at Eng/Rus, Rus/Eng interpretation) as well as an additional 3 years studying Medical Geochemistry at Stony Brook University.
I have been proofreading journal articles for the staff of the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Urbino (Urbino, Italy) and translating in the Rus-Eng pair since 2009. I began working in the Ita-Eng pair in 2013.
