My mother is American and my father is Mexican, and we lived in Central America for most of my life. I learned Spanish and English simultaneously while speaking both in the home as well as attending a bilingual private school. I have now lived in Michigan since 2002 and been involved in jobs that include translating or using Spanish and English actively.
