Regarding to my education, I'm a Portuguese undergraduate, who studied Translation and Administrative Assistance, at the Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto (ISCAP) which belongs to one the largest and most prestigious public Polytechnic Institutes in Portugal, the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP).
I was a student under the Erasmus Framework for two full academic years - the first one, as an exchange student at the University of Vigo and the second, as a trainee in the International Relations Office of the same university.
I studied at the Faculty of Translation at the University of Vigo, where I developed my translations skills in another language besides my mother tongue. My main subjects were, as in at my home university, in Portugal, related to Translation, Interpretation, Social Sciences, Cultural Studies, Economics and Law.
For this reason, I’m currently a translator trainee at Campus do Mar - University of Vigo - which is an aggregation of several universities from Galicia and northern of Portugal, whose purpose is to contribute to the sustainable development of the region through ocean Science and Technology. My task is to translate different types of text – most of them legal and administrative – from Spanish or Galician into Portuguese and English (and vice-versa).
Along with this business opportunity at Campus do Mar, I’m also a graduate student: Master of Education, specialized in Economics and Social Sciences for compulsory and post compulsory education, which I plan to finish this current academic year.
As for my vocational training, since 2010, three years now, I’m a freelance translator. I have been translating for some business companies (www.redgenera.com) and for some online translation agencies like www.speaklike.com. For the performance of my duties I use CAT tools – SDL Trados, terminology extractor.
For educational and professional reasons I keep up-to-date regarding to European affairs.
Due to my training formation and personal skills – hard worker, organized, emphatic and self-motivated – makes me one of the most suitable translators.
