1.1 Basic Requirements
（1）The specification is technical requirements for the China United Network Communication Co., Ltd. and its subsidiary companies (hereinafter referred to as "China Unicom") in 2009 China Unicom home gateway device centralized purchasing work. Below, the "equipment" is referred to external home gateway user terminals if no special instruction.
（2）This specification is only the latest requirements for building broadband accessing networks. China Unicom is entitled to make necessary amendments and additions to this specification before signing a contract. The final specification will be served as part of the contract.
（3）Without the written permission of China Unicom, manufacturers shall not disclose the specifications to third parties in any form.
（4）China Unicom retains and has the right to interpret and amend this specification at any condition.
（5）Venders should provide devices ICP and related test reports.
（6）Venders should undertake the corresponding obligation of the provided software and hardware when involved in patent, intellectual property and other legal provisions, China Unicom which does not bear any responsibility.
（7） Hardware equipments and software provided by venders should be guaranteed by China Unicom tests, and must be of the same type, version, and configuration with the tested devices.
（8）The equipments and systems provided by the vendors should be in full compliance with China Unicom’s specified standard of features and performances, and meet or exceed the requirements of China Unicom. Also venders should support free software upgrades to meet the requirements of upcoming new services. The terms of performances and features not specified in this document, but already have been recommended in standards of relevant international organizations for standardization (e.g. ISO, IEEE, ITU-T, ETSI, IMTC, IETF, etc.), the country's national standards, or the standard by Ministry of Information Industry, should be required to meet the standard's latest proposal.
（9）Technical indicators of equipments supplied by the venders, as well as the performance of the network constituted by these devices should meet the requirements of this specification. The vender should list specifications and configurations of provided equipments and systems, any provisions different from China Unicom’s specifications should be indicated and detail the reasons.
（10）If the vender's devices contain its own specific standard, it should also be specified in the proposal, together with the corresponding technical details.
（11）This technical specification should be considered as the minimum requirements to ensure the network performance, anything omitted should be added by venders, otherwise if tender accepted, will be taken as venders agree to provide the missing part for free.
（12）The vender should be responsible for features and performances of all those products provided. As a result of the vendor’s unreasonable configuration, which makes the provided products or security systems that adapting their proposals and products failed to meet the requirements of this specification, the vender should bear full responsibility.
（13）The vender should provide detailed list of writing technical information in its quotes.
1.2 Tender response standards
（1）The bidders should make response to the technical specification point to point. Every response must bring the original terms.
（2）Bidders should respond to each proposed requirement with detailed statement of support level. Clearly make a "satisfied", "not satisfied" response first, and then make specific and detailed instructions.
（3）Venders should not use terms such as "understand", "understanding", "partially satisfied" etc. Devices cannot fully meet requests under the same terms shall be considered as "not satisfied." Response on the proposal should be answered separately from other sections. Bidders can state specific details for the terms not satisfied, so that buyers can understand the circumstances and reasons well.
（4）If the bidders use "satisfied" in the response, but put forward a new proposal, the buyer consider it as "satisfied". Buyer may not discuss their proposals with the bidders, and may not adopt its suggestions.
（5）If the bidders use "satisfied" in the response, but its later description is inconsistent with the content of tender, then the former interpretation of bidders is invalid.
（6）In response, it is required for a specific degree of satisfaction. Where a "see” or "refer to" is used; specific section or page numbers in the documentation should be indicated. The contents need to be explained in details should be responded one by one. If too much content, it can be placed in specified annex.
（7） If no special instructions in its reply, supporting features in the vender’s statements should be considered as those have been achieved, not including what able to support but not yet achieved. China Unicom will carry out proof tests in due time. If found the vender declared features and performance inconsistent with the test results, China Unicom retains the right to take further measures according to related laws and regulations.
1.3 Tender Equipment Requirements
（1）As to home gateway products involved in the test, the bidders should ensure the data provided consistent with test results by the group.
（2）Tender equipments should comply with
1)’China Unicom Home Gateway GWH-01 Technical specification’
2)’China Unicom remote control_GWH-01 data model’ (Annex G)
（3）Manufacturer should provide the ICP certification issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology or Ministry of Information Industry, and scanning pieces. The major devices must pass test by the former China Unicom.
（4）Device model should be consistent in the test, ICP certification and bidding documents. Inconsistent product will not be assessed.
（5）Tender companies should clarify major products and alternative products. Response to technical specification should be mainly for the tested major products.
（6）The major products and alternative products are required to meet the technical specifications. Both should not deviate from the indicators required.
（7）During the bid evaluation, for the major products:
1）If the major products are accepted, then tested alternative products should also be accepted if comply with the technical specification.
2）If the major products are failed, then the corresponding alternative product will not be nominated, too.
3）If the judges confirm not to evaluate the major products, then alternative products can be evaluated.
（8）Bidders should ensure features, interfaces and software protocols of the products offered to be with good compatibility and extensibility and bear the relevant responsibilities and obligations.
（9）All equipments provided by venders must be of the latest generation with reliability. And venders should guarantee that the product quantity, quality, in particular, the interface compatibility.
（10）On the point to point response to technical specification, bidders should describe each type of home gateway products one by one. If all the home gateway products have common, venders need not to response separately, but clearly explain that can apply to all home gateway products.
（11）The home gateway provided by bidders should support interworking between remote management platforms of other manufacturers. And venders should describe the interworking status of current networks, including the branch name (including China Unicom and telecommunications), interworking extent (the number of user end), manufacturers name of the remote management platform, and business cases under the interworking circumstance.
（12）During technical evaluation, for device model already tested by buyer, the buyer will evaluate technical indicators under the test results. The sub-item not tested will be scored 0.
2 Technical Requirements
2.1 Device Type
The technical specification is for home gateway of GWH-01 model defined by China Unicom, with its main features include but are not limited to:
User side WLAN accessing and 4 Ethernet Accessing Ports
Adapting different accessing capability and application according to user profiles
Enable remote management
Support QoS and Qos configuration mechanism
Provide some security mechanisms, including basic firewall functions
Interworking with IPTV set-top box, IP camera, video phone, Femto AP and IAD to support other home network services via Ethernet ports or WLAN
The bidding terminals should at least comply with the basic requirements in this technical specification, and must comply with ‘Technical specification of China Unicom Home gateway GWH-01’and ‘Service specification of China Unicom Home gateway GWH-01’. Also the products should be of the same type, version and configuration with those already passed the tests by China Unicom Group.
The manufactures should specify the type, version of software and hardware, type of home gateway set and version info. Please identify the terminal in accordance with the unified approach: XX (manufactures) GWH-01 (Type)-set type, for instance, XX GWH-01 -BCM-6333.
2.2.1 User end Interface
18.104.22.168 Ethernet Interface
Must support Full-duplex and 10/100Mbps self-adaptive
The Ethernet interface should comply with IEEE802.3 standards, and must support directly connection with PC. Also it is recommended to support adaptive connection.
22.214.171.124 WLAN interface
Home gateway user side devices should offer WLAN interface. The interface should support at least 802.11b、802.11g and 802.11g/b, and has the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED(TM) by Wi-Fi alliance.
Support National WLAN security standard (GB15629.11／1102)(so-called WAPI), and has national product certification.
2.2.2 Line side interface
126.96.36.199 ADSL 2 Line Interface
The uplink interface should be compatible with both ADSL2 and ADSL2 ， complying with ITU-T G.992.3 and ITU-T G.992.5. Also the interface should comply with ‘Technical specification of China Unicom ADSL2 user end devices’.
The ADSL2 interface should comply with ‘Annex A of ITU-T G.992.5’and ‘Annex L of G.992.3’.The interface should support the single delay mode of both Fast and Interleave channels.
At least capable to support INP=4
Within its working frequency band, the longitudinal loss balance of line interface should exceed 40dB.
Manufacturer shall state how ADSL2 line interface comply with the Annex M of G.992.5, and if not supported, manufacturers should indicate the roadmap of realizing the Annex M of G.992.5.
Manufacturer shall state the implement of the following features in the ADSL2 user end devices.
1. Bit constellation modulation
2. Bit Swap
3. Seamless Rate Adaptation (SRA), which uplink Seamless Rate Adaptation is optional.
4. L2, and L3 low-power management (the state transitions of L0 to L2, L2 to L0, L0 to L3, L2 to L3 are initiated by the head end equipments, and state transitions from L3 to L0 are initiated by the terminal equipments).

ADSL2 customer premise equipment should open the supported feature by default. If not supported, manufacturers should indicate the corresponding implementation roadmap.
Please also note the compatible status of ADSL2 / 2 features and China Unicom’s current mainstream DSLAM equipments supplied by Huawei, ZTE and Bell.
CPE should be able to coordinate with the head end equipment to give priority for link activation and connections upon line conditions according to G.992.5 Annex A.
2.3.1 Data forwarding
In the network side, GWH-01 equipment must coordinate with network equipment to implement user access, network address allocation, user information authentication as well as other management and control functions to support network operations.
188.8.131.52 Router and Bridge mode
Must support the routing mode, bridge mode, and routing-bridging mixed mode
At any mode, the devices must support mutual access between terminals in the home network. Also the terminals must be able to access home gateway.
At any mode, the devices must support binding of LAN/WLAN port and WAN port.
At routing mode, the home gateway should be able to limit the number of terminals connecting to public network.
At routing mode, home gateways should support DHCP option60 to identify the device.
At routing mode, you must support at least 3 routing connections, and enable set up.
At routing mode, the home gateway should be able to limit the number of terminals accessing to public network at the same time (access based on the private network IP address or MAC address) , and support configuring the total number of public network access.
You must configure number of access in remote configuration mode. Suppose the current restrictions on number of accessing terminals is N, then processing the internet accessing request of the N 1 terminal, GWH-01 must complete the following steps:
1.Using ARP detection method, check if any of the previous N terminals is offline, any terminal fails to response to any of the 3 consecutive tests will be considered as offline.
2. If all the N terminals are active, then GWH-01 should reject internet access request of the N 1 terminal, but the N 1 terminal can get private network IP addresses and access the other terminals and equipment at LAN end.
3. If the current active terminals are less than N, then GWH-01 should allow the N 1 terminal to complete Internet access.
Must support PPPoE dialing
In the ADSL access mode, the devices must support the ATM model.
Support independent settings and services of eight VPI / VCI, support F5 OAM, and support G.994.1.
2.3.2 Network protocol
In the user side, GWH-01 device should be able to support the home network running, providing management services such as address allocation, address resolution etc.
Must support static routing and static routing table can be configured, deleted and queried.
Optionally support dynamic routing of RIPV1/V2
Must support the DHCP client, and be able to obtain IP addresses from the outside network.
Must support DHCP server, support configurable address pool that can allocate subnet IP address for the home network. The default LAN-side IP addresses segment is of 192.168.1.0/24.
DHCP server must support the dual address pool, which are non-overlapping address spaces in the same network segment. Assign device addresses from the address pool, according to DHCP option60 identification reported by the equipments in the home network.
DHCP Server can tell assigned address in the address pool, including the client name, MAC address and IP address.
Must support DNS relay, support DNS requests forwarding for equipments within the home network.
WAN port as a DHCP Client or PPP Client can automatically obtain the DNS server address.
WAN port using Static IP can support standby DNS server for manual configuration.
Must support DDNS Dynamic DNS feature, venders should provide free support to China Unicom’s follow-up DDNS services.
Support NAT / NAPT conversion and comply with the RFC2663, RFC3022 protocol specification.
Support Cone NAT
Support virtual server, which is to support home networking devices to open external server services such as ftp server / web server; support options for common protocol virtual server, allowing users to change related configuration of the virtual server; support user-defined new virtual server; support open for at least eight virtual servers.
Optionally support for Port Triggering. When the specified port within the network send the packet, the device will automatically open the specified port outside the network, and map it to the corresponding port of the host in internal network; provide options for Port Triggering of common protocol, allows the user to change the related configuration of port triggering; support adding user-defined Port Triggering; number of Port Triggering should meet normal demand of most users.
Support IGMP Proxy, IGMP snooping feature.
Support for IGMP V1, V2, optionally support for IGMP V3.
Support for IGMP V1, V2 Fast Leave;
Support IGMPV1, V2 source IP addresses transparent transmission.
Support the ALG function, support Private Network Traversing of SIP, FTP, RTSP, L2TP, optionally support for TFTP, IPSec protocol; provide separate switching options for each protocol.

Support IPv4 and IPv6
Support SNTP or NTP protocol, can synchronize with time of NTP server deployed by operators. GWH-01 should synchronize with the NTP server each power-on, and synchronize once every 24 hours if with continuous power supply.
2.3.3 WLAN AP
Home gateway should provide a WLAN interface at user end, providing wireless access to enable wireless transmission between home devices.
Must provide physical switch to open and close the WLAN feature. The WLAN feature should be enabled by default. Every operation from WEB pages or external hard-switch will switch the open/close state of WLAN feature, and states on Web pages and external hard-switch side should be the same.
Support 802.11b、802.11g and 802.11g/b mixed modes.
GWH-01 must have a good compatibility with other WLAN devices, must be certified by Wi-Fi Alliance.
Support multi-SSID, support at least four virtual AP (ie SSID-1, SSID-2, SSID-3, SSID-4), each virtual AP with separate configuration, including ESSID, BSSID, Sequence Number, sending queue, security mechanisms, configuration parameters. From the external view, each virtual AP is equal to the actual AP.
Must support a separate set for each of the hidden SSID and encryption settings.
Must support independent binding between the SSID and the WAN connection
Only SSID-1 is enabled by default, the other SSID can be enabled and configured by remote management platform, or Unicom administrator, but not available to ordinary users.
Support manual and automatic speed adjustment, the default setting is automatic speed adjustment mode. Range of 802.11b speed adjustment is 11,5.5,2,1 Mbps, Range of 802.11b speed adjustment is 54,48,36,24,18,12,9,6 Mbps, Mixed automatic speed adjustment ranges 54,48,36,24, 18,12,9,6,11,5.5,2,1 Mbps.
Support 13 work channels (channel 1 ~ 13), the scope of the channel comply with the 802.11 protocol. Supports automatic channel selection and manual configuration, the default mode is auto-channel selection. Transmission power adjustable, the maximum transmit power (including antenna gain) should reach 85 ~ 100mW.
Supports 64-bit, 128-bit WEP encryption, the key can be HEX or ASCII character.
Must support WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, must support AES, TKIP encryption, support for WAPI encryption and WPA-PSK is enabled by default. The WPA-PSK key of SSID1 is randomly generated by the system when leave factory, and marked on the surface of home gateway. When equipment is restored as the factory settings, the key should be set as the one marked on the surface.
220.127.116.11 Other Requirements
Support the STA in power-saving mode that can identify the STA enters a power save state, and cache relevant data, be able to wake up STA by Beacon frame, and send the cached data.
2.3.4 Devices identification
Home Gateway automatically detects the connecting devices, and configures the specific private network IP address and parameters for certain devices (such as QoS, Port Forwarding, etc.). As to the terminal cannot be identified (such as the DHCP request without Option 60 field, or Option 60 field not complying with definition in Appendix A of this specification ), then recognize them as "Computer".
Home gateway must support DHCP packet extension field Option 43, Option 60, and should be consistent with RFC2132, RFC3925 standard.
Home gateway support two-level and three-level QoS mechanisms, support various ways of flow classification, support multiple types of queue scheduling management mechanism, support current-limiting and traffic shaping and monitoring. Its WLAN interface support WMM, and the Ethernet interface support 802.1p / q, the ADSL interface supports ATM-QoS (UBR, CBR, RT-VBR, NRT-VBR), ATM traffic shaping, in the IP layer it supports priority queue, provide end to end quality assurance for service data of various home networking terminals.

2.3.7 New user internet portal control
If users connect to the Internet for the first time, typing any URL at the browse page, the system will pop-up an operator's service pages.
During the user's first visit to the Internet via different terminals (a reboot or every 24 hours after the terminal starts are regarded as the first online), the home gateway parse the HTTP protocol URL. Once detecting the terminal is make the URL access for the first time, the home gateway will guide the visit to China Unicom portal Web site.
2.3.8 Exception warning
Must support exception warning.
When the client PC is unable to be online because ADSL is not connected or activated, the system should display ‘ADSL connection is not successful’ automatically on the browser pages of client PC.
2.4.1 Power-up period
Power-on period less than 60s (equipment start-up time);
Power-to-activation time of ADSL line should be less than 60s (under good line conditions).
2.4.2 ADSL access performance
Transmission performance of ADSL2 lines should be consistent with the “Technical requirements of China Unicom ADSL2 customer premise equipment."
2.4.3 Router forwarding performance
Throughput is the sum of data sent and received by all ports of the device at the same time.
If length of the packet is 64byte, customer premise equipment’s uplink and downlink data traffic should respectively reach 60% of the biggest line activation rate or more.
If length of the packet is respectively 512byte, 1024byte and 1518byte, customer premise equipment’s uplink and downlink data traffic should respectively reach 80% of the biggest line activation rate or more.

When the single wireless end access to home gateway by 802.11b, the one-way uplink or downlink throughput of wireless terminal should be:
Non-encrypted: no less than 5Mbps;
Encrypted: no less than 4.5Mbps. The encryption method is 128bit WEP encryption.
When the single wireless end access to home gateway by 802.11g, the one-way uplink or downlink throughput of wireless terminal should be:
Non-encrypted: no less than 18Mbps;
Encrypted: no less than 16Mbps. Encryption method is 128bit WEP encryption.
188.8.131.52 WLAN coverage
Home gateway using the omni-directional antennas, transmission power should be less than 100mW, and:
(1) If deployed in open room without block and interference, the largest coverage extent of signal should be over 50m;
(2) If deployed in open area outdoor without block and interference, the largest coverage extent of signal should be over 100m;
184.108.40.206 WLAN receiver sensitivity
Under 802.11b protocol, in DSSS / DBPSK and CCK mode, receiver threshold level should meet the requirements in the following table. When using 1024-byte long of PSDU, under a certain data rate, the frame error rate (FER) should be less than 8%, when the reception signal level is equal to the corresponding threshold.

2.5 Maintenance management
2.5.1 Basic Requirements
Home gateway provides two kinds of management methods:
Local Management: Home gateway management and maintenance by Unicom administrator or home user.
Remote management: ACS management and maintenance on the home gateway equipment.
As the end unit of the operation network, in principle, Home gateway must support China Unicom administrators to make local configuration and remote configuration for all information setting and queries related to network operation.
Home gateway management can be along the following protocol:
Remote management: need to support TR-069 protocol for remote configuration and management, must support HTTP / XML / SOAP protocol, it is recommended to support FTP / TFTP client; optionally support SNMP protocol for remote configuration and management.
Local Management: must support WEB configuration management, must support the telnet configuration management.
Home gateway must support the log records, including records of home gateway login, management configuration, external attacks, warning information etc.
The requirement of the log file is as follows:
Txt log file should be a txt file, please refer to Appendix B for format requirements;
At least can store the latest 60 logs (if unresolved logs exceed 60, the new log should overwrite the earliest log);
All log files are stored locally and ensured no lost when power off;

2.5.2 Local Management
Home gateways support local configuration management via local PC. Local configuration interface must provide a friendly UI and comprehensive online help for configuration. Home gateway must provide a user configuration interface based on the WEB page. Home Gateway WEB local management must support two user management modes, that Unicom administrator and local management users. Family users are capable to manage the basic configuration and equipment query for gateway. Unicom administrator is with complete configuration and management capabilities, able to query user name of family users, modify the family user profiles, provincial company define the default user name and password of China Unicom administrator. The default home user name is ‘user’, and password is a random 8-bit lower-case ASCII string (0-9, az). The password can be obtained from the back identification. User name and password of Unicom administrator are not open to family users, only can be used or modified by remote management platform or the administrator.

2.6. Device Hardware
2.6.1 Appearance and re-mark
Home gateway is a new client side product named and developed by China Unicom. To ensure the beauty and business brand consistency, the initial definitions and requirements of China Unicom’s home gateway GWH-01 are listed as follows:
1. Elegant appearance and compatible proportion. The design is better to be of a certain design theme and provide a variety of optional appearance colors.
2. Easy to deploy, and support three kind of deploy modes which are horizontal, vertical, and hung.
3. Mold surface needs to be properly grinded in order to have a better feel, quality and not easy to slide down. Also, a rounded corner with a certain radian is required in corner design in order to avoiding injuries.
4. Each access port should be smooth, easy to insert and plug.
5. As well as good heat dissipation function, the design style of cooling device should also be in accordance with appearance.
6. The logos of China Unicom and its “Family 1 ” business brand should be directly printed on the surface (up side), the back of the model. These logos must follow the VI manual of China Unicom and “Family 1 ” business brand.
7. On the back, side or bottom of a home gateway, related label information and business introduction (defined by the provincial branches) about China Unicom home gateway are required. Requirements are listed as follows:

Source text - English The focus of every village, and many urban communities, the wat (Thai Buddhist monastery), plays many secular roles and even offers entertainment. Still the wat compound is sacred ground, removed from the mundane world by walls beyond an initial gate or fortified moat. To the Khmer cosmological plan, Thais added chedi (pointed reliquery towers) and their ancestral rooflines, the eaves chiming with brass bells.
The key building is the bot (or ubosot), the ordination hall rarely open to the public and demarcated by eight bai sema (which inspired Thai Airways’ logo). Often leaf-shaped, these flat standing monoliths may be sheltered in miniature shrines. Most temples have one or more vihaan (assembly halls). Lacking bai sema, but resembling bot in their decorative gables, crown-like window frames, raised terrace and roofs of green and orange tiles, vihaan usually host the principal Buddha images and public worship.
Thai motifs also embellish other temple structures. The cubic mondop, with complex cruciform roof, houses a Buddha footprint or scriptures. Hor trai (libraries) sit upon a pedestal or stilts over water to protect against fire and insects. Sometimes Buddha images line a cloister. And as in secular spaces, sala (elevated open pavilions) can shelter any activity, from resting, eating or meeting, to music, dance or massage. Chedi, however, are usually the dominant structures.
