I am Italian and I live in England (Oxford). I have a degree in English and French languages and literatures specialising in translation.
I have worked for some time in a translation agency in Milan (Italy) where I have had the opportunity to translate different types of texts - technical, electronics, newspaper articles, gadgets and toys' instructions as well as more general texts or recipes/menus.
At the same time I have gained a broader experience on the tools a translator can use in their work, like glossaries, and I have learnt to use Trados.
I am currently working in a company representing hotels on different selling channels; my role involves working with Italian and French hotels helping them to upsell their properties; this includes also translating hotels and rooms' descriptions from English into Italian and French. I also translate more technical texts concerning the products and services our company can offer and these documents will of course be delivered to our costomers to provide them with a better and deeper understanding of the tools they can take advantage of. This position has provided me with a good knowledge of travelling and tourism terminology.
Since I started university I have translated content for websites and I have been proofreader for a local newspaper.
