I am a Canadian native English speaker, have a 4 yr. Honours degree (BA) in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario in Canada, and have been living and working in The Netherlands since 1996.
I was raised by a British mother (English teacher), and an Austrian father. I graduated from a French | English bilingual school, and have travelled all over the world. Language has always played a huge role in my life.
I have an IT and communications background (10+ years at IBM). I’m a stickler for the perfect use of the English language. I can always spot translations made by non-native English speakers.
I have recently started working as a freelance Dutch --> English translator (and localizer), editor, (web) copywriter, and proofreader.
I can work for a reasonable per source word rate, and am available days, evenings, and weekends.
I guarantee my work. I also welcome any work requiring extra research.
I have a BTW (Tax) number, a KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number, a VOG (proof of good behaviour), and a VAR (permit to work).
I have good references, examples of my work, sample test text, and a CV available.
