Bio
I have been a freelance English >French (and English > French (Canada)) translator since 2004. During that time I have translated very diverse texts : news articles, company newsletters, automotive, tourism, environment, legal, financial, medical texts… Please see below or my attached CV for details.

My rates are negotiable according to volume and difficulty, but I normally ask for 0.08 euros/source word (or equivalent if paid in another currency through Paypal). For proofreading : 0.025 euros/source word.

I work with Trados 2007 (+ Tag Editor), Trados 2009, WordFast Pro (+XTM Cloud and memoQ, but under some clients' license)

I am a very serious and focused person and deliver a quality job meeting deadlines.

I can normally translate around 3000 words a day, depending on difficulty and on other jobs I might have for other clients (exceptionally more than that when needed, of course: I am committed and a very hard worker).

Some recent translations:

NEWS / BLOG ARTICLES / MARKETING

Backed by several Master’s degrees (History, Information science, minors in Geography, Sociology) and many years of living, studying and working in various English countries and in various fields, I have both an excellent command of my own language and an intimate knowledge of English which I put to good use for general/more creative types of translations.

Examples:
- Library of Congress (over 20,000 words, August 2013->): description of LOC various documents (XIXth and early XXth century maps, pictures, posters…)
- Megahelp, Megaking, Megabest, Megagogo (over 500,000 words, November 2010-January 2012) : numerous daily articles for those blogs on a variety of topics (humanitarian, environment, watches, jewels, auction sales, cars, art, rewards, achievements, people, architecture, show business, sport, playboy…)
- Texts about marketing (e.g. Epsilon…), and product information / marketing texts (e.g. Nitro, Nostalgio, Sundae Maker, Zentangle, Global Choice…)

TOURISM / TRANSPORT

I’ve spent 6 years working in the tourism industry (both in English and in French) and tourism / transport has quite naturally become one of my translation specialties.

Examples:
- Air lines: Delta Air Lines (regular newsletter, customer service…, August 2011-March 2012), Aeromexico (customer service, newsletter), Sky Life)
- Cruise Lines: Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruises, Carnival Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Starboard Cruises (program, menu, safety briefing, travel vouchers, onboard boutique, FAQ…)
- Bus Line : Eurolines (script proposal)
- Hotel booking websites: Priceline.com, Oyster.com, Ctrip.com, Unplugo.com
- Hotel and B&B reviews: Tripadvisor
- Tourism map and brochure: municipality of Knysna (South Africa), tourism brochure (Villa Viscaya, Kennedy Space center)
- Attractions: j2ski.com (ski resorts of the world, 150,000 words), Monkeyland and Birds of Eden sanctuaries websites

NATURE / ENVIRONMEMT

Linked to some degree to tourism, nature / environment is really my favourite subject because it is the one I care most about in my personal life. I have notably been a bilingual nature guide working in a forest with monkeys and birds for 6 years and trained as a ranger in one of the World’s biggest game reserve.

Examples:
- Canadian Wildlife Federation: various articles (e.g. “why grow native plants”, “Majella Larochelle, Horticulturist and Botanist”…)
- Monkeyland and Birds of Eden: translation of the two websites + numerous articles written in English about monkeys, birds, forest and environment issues
- Megahelp.com: numerous articles on environment and humanitarian issues
- Interair magazine: translation of a couple of articles about nature sanctuaries
- Numerous environment articles written in English for associatedcontent.com AUTOMOTIVE / TECHNICAL

Since I started working as a freelance translator, in 2004, automotive has been one of my main specialties. More recently I have come to also translate many other technical texts.

Examples:
- Technician manuals : Volkswagen, Nissan, Komatsu
- Operator manual, customer assistance center: Navistar, Chrysler, Allison(transmissions), McCarthy Group (combines)……
- Articles about new models, auto shows and other issues linked to cars: on the websites Megaking, Megasport and Megabest, for the magazine Journal de Montreal (translation, adaptation, rewriting), for CU Direct, Tesla
- Other technical manuals: Capital Safety (A-Frame Rail Fall Arrest System, 3-person swivelling roof anchor…), Honeywell (air purifying respirators), MacLaren (reclined cradle, child bed…), Hill Rom (hospital beds…), Ace Hardware, TransCanada (plumbing, heating system), American Dynamics (NVR guide), LifeSize (video system guide)

IT / DATABASES / WEBSITES

Among other things, I have trained and worked as in Information manager (notably in charge of databases) and as a web developer and thus my professional knowledge of databases and IT is a great help while translating that type of texts.

Examples:
- Laptops, tablets: Hewlett Packard
- Databases, e-commerce website: messages for clients or webmaster
- Software / application manuals: John Deere (Tool organizer), Zendesk (Guide for selecting Help Desk software for the enterprise), iTalk (Quick start guide)…
- Description/Marketing of various applications (e.g. MyInterview, Wrapp, Alarm Clock Xtreme…)

Apart from the main categories above I also translate all kinds of other documents, notably:

- Web privacy policy (e.g. Fiat Pandatime)
- Code of conduct and business principles (Mastercard, Smith & Nephew…)
