My name is Elena García and I have a degree from the University of Salamanca in Translation and Interpreting from English and French into Spanish.
I have been able to work for UNAIDS
(short program - virtual: UNAIDS Certificate (EN)
) and the UN New York branch
(during 5 months - via video conference: UN Certificate (SP)
) during my formation thanks to the relationship my university holds with the Organization.
I have been able to work with a wide variety of texts thanks, between others, to the UN texts they sent to my translation group to work with and to other works I have done and supervised also linked with my university (for example, with my latest help in translating and proofreading autobiographic novels dating from the 1930s set in the Spanish Civil War).
I consider myself as a hard worker, very precise, always looking for the right word or sentence in order to let the target reader be able to understand completely and truthfully what the source text wanted to transmit in the best possible way. I always double check my work, sometimes even more, to assure the maximum quality in every aspect, that is why I also like to work as a proofreader, so everything ends up as it is supposed to be, or even better.
If you want a quality and thorough work, I am your choice.
