My love of languages began at school where I studied French and Spanish. I graduated from Cardiff University with a BA in French and Pure Mathematics, and I passed my MA in Translation with Language Technology (languages: French and Spanish) with distinction in 2012. I am an Associate Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.
I am currently an in-house translator at SDL. I moved to SDL in October 2013 after spending eighteen months working as a sales/project manager at a small translation company. Before this I completed a translation internship for the same company.
As part of my undergraduate degree, I spent the 2008-9 academic year as a Erasmus student living in Limoges, France where I studied translation amongst other French language modules. In addition to this, I spent the month of August 2010 studying an intensive Spanish course at Malaga university. I also taught beginners French classes for the Swansea University French Society.
Besides my interest in French and Spanish language and culture, I enjoy dancing and playing music. When the City of Cardiff Concert Band toured to Nantes in April 2008 I liaised with Nantes Council as well as musical ensembles and choirs from Nantes University to organise concerts and visits.
