US born, I received my MA and Ph.D. degrees in German linguistics from U.C. Berkeley, and lived and studied in Germany for 3+ years. I now work as a freelance technical translator from German to English, specializing in intellectual property, mechanical engineering, materials science, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical technology, and linguistics.
In addition to my formal linguistics background, I have 25 years of experience working as a patent paralegal and technical translator in the intellectual property field.
I am also well versed in all areas of intellectual property, providing translations to law firms of, for example, EPO patent opposition and appellate proceeding correspondence; EP, German and PCT search reports and written opinions and more.
I have also translated many personal documents, including birth, baptismal, marriage and death certificates, divorce decrees, school transcript and employment records and drivers licenses.
