My name is Catarina Amaral and I was born and grown in Portugal.
I have a Master’s (Master of Research) Degree in Marine Biology from Plymouth University (United Kingdom) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology from Azores University (Portugal).
Throughout my undergraduate training, I’ve assisted in scientific research on marine benthic communities, co-writing during that period two scientific papers (in english), published on scientific journals. I further pursued scientific research on that subject throughout my postgraduate studies.
I’ve done some translation work for the permanent exhibition of a Whale Museum, and general translations related to the topics of my research.
After completing my postgraduate studies I’ve worked on ecotourism, gaining new and complementary knowledge on nature-related tourism.
Being a native Portuguese I have inside knowledge of the Portuguese culture, practices and language particularities, thus guaranteeing that your translation is first-class. On the other hand, since I have lived in England for an extended period, I can speak and write English fluently while grasping the nuances of the English culture.
