Tekst źródłowy - angielski We argue that empathy requires some form of active inhibitory mechanism (i.e., the deliberate suppression of a cognition or response to achieve an internally represented goal [Nigg, 2001]) and the contribution of the prefrontal cortex has an essential role in this regulation process (Fuster, 1989). A “self-regulatory disorder” has been coined by Levine and colleagues (Levine, Freedman, Dawson, Black, & Stuss, 1999) for the syndrome exhibited by these patients with ventromedial prefrontal cortex damage (particularly on the right). This syndrome is defined as the inability to regulate behavior according to internal goals and constraints. It arises from the inability to hold a mental representation of the self on-line and to use this self-related information to inhibit inappropriate responses. This may consequently lead to deficit of empathy (see also section titled The Lack of Empathy).

Hello! I'm an English-Spanish sworn translator, graduated from the School of Languages (UNC). I am registered with the Association of Sworn Translators of the Province of Córdoba (Argentina), and I am a member of the ATA. I am the co-author of "Translation 101: guía de supervivencia para traductores noveles" and the author of "La evolución de la industria: traducción automática y posedición".
I specialize in machine translation post-editing and work in the fields of defense, international and humanitarian organizations, education, and social services. I have completed certifications in my areas of work and various courses related to Social Sciences and Humanities. Additionally, I completed the modules "Linguistic Engineering" and "Machine Translation and Post-Editing" from the Diploma in Multimedia Content Localization at UNC in 2021, and have participated in training sessions and conferences related to translation technology.
