Where did this all start? From the original US version of Cartoon Network, which somehow was available on Polish television in the 90s. As a child, I had the opportunity to listen to a real language, not distorted or simplified for education purposes, with all its variations, styles, and cultural references. I immediately understood the context, even if I had some gaps in my vocabulary or grammar. I was told that as a small child I spoke Polish and English interchangeably :)
Then in high school, I found a good English teacher who helped me develop my talent. I took part in many language competitions and this finally confirmed my decision to study English.
It was during university that I became fond of the language. Now I watch movies in English without subtitles, read articles in English, and chat with people from all over the world online. Hey, I even think in English, sometimes more often than in Polish :) I find the act of translation to be fascinating, like falling down a rabbit hole where something new and mysterious awaits me, something that I need to tame so that others can admire it.
Apart from language, I'm also interested in drawing and writing. In 2013, my story 'Urban Jungle' was to be published in the City 3 anthology from the Forma publishing house. The release plan has been canceled, however, my text can still be read on the organizers' website (in Polish).
