Introduction
Everyone needs a balanced diet for health. However this can be difficult if you are feeling ill and have lost your appetite. Weight loss can be a common problem during sickness or treatment.
If you can maintain or increase your weight, by increasing the food value of your diet, you wili:-
• feel stronger.
• be able to fight infection.
• cope better with treatment.
This booklet will give you advice on:-
• Common eating problems.
• Ideas on how to add extra energy and protein to your diet.
• Information on nutritional supplements.
Try some of the ideas below and see what suits you best.
Common eating problems Poor Appetite
Try taking small, frequent meals and snacks.
Try to have something nourishing every few hours.
Try smaller portions or use a smaller plate so you don't
become overwhelmed.
Cold foods might be easier to take e.g. cold meats, potato, pasta or tuna salads.
Softer food can often be less effort to eat e.g. scrambled egg, shepherds pie.
if you are tired you may enjoy food prepared by someone else.
Make use of ready meals if you are too tired to cook. Make the most of the times when you feel better by trying to eat more.
Relax before meals and take your time while eating. A small amount of alcohol (if permitted) or some fresh air before a meal might stimulate your appetite. Drinking fluids with meals may fill you up so you may want to take your drink after meals.
If you smoke, your appetite and taste may improve if you stop.

Rome’s largest, most spectacular fountain, the Trevi Fountain is a baroque extravaganza, its ancient sea gods and gushing water dominating a tiny piazza.Immortalised in Fellini’s film, ‘La Dolce Vita’, this is the place to toss your coins to ensure your return to the Eternal City.The three streets radiating from the piazza lead to the historical centre and sights of the Quirinale – one of the original seven hills.

The heart of Ancient Rome, all roads led to the Forum. Visitors flock here to walk the streets where Julius Caesar once trod when this was the centre of commercial, political and judicial life. Nearby, the Colosseum, described by Lord Byron as ‘the gladiators’ bloody circus’, is the world’s most famous amphitheatre and the most impressive of all Rome’s buildings and ruins.
The most southerly of Rome’s seven hills, the Aventine offers splendid views over St Peter’s and Trastevere from the top. This peaceful, mainly residential quarter has leafy gardens, churches and cloisters. It also incorporates colourful Testaccio, site of the city’s old slaughterhouse where many locals once worked, and inns serving traditional Roman cuisine. It’s now a thriving area of good restaurants, shops, bars and clubs.
Favoured as an out-of-town retreat for the Romans, the Castelli Romani are hilltop villages descended from fortified castles of the Middle Ages. Set on the outer rims of extinct volcanic craters of the Albani Hills, the air is refreshing and the rich, volcanic soil is ideal for vine-growing. Well-known for its crisp, white wine, Frascati is the most accessible of the Castelli Romani. Nearby is the Pope’s summer palace, the Castel Gandolfo.

To implement QoS, the Cisco Catalyst 2960 LAN Base Series Switch first identifies traffic flows or packet groups, then classifies or reclassifies these groups using the differentiated services code point (DSCP) field or the 802.1p class of service (CoS) field. Classification and reclassification can be based on criteria as specific as the source or destination IP address, source or destination MAC address, or the Layer 4 TCP or UDP port. At the ingress, the Cisco Catalyst 2960 LAN Base Series also polices to determine whether a packet is in or out of profile, marks to change the classification label, passes through or drops out of profile packets, and queues packets based on classification. Control-plane and data-plane ACLs are supported on all ports to help ensure proper treatment on a per-packet basis.
