Bio
I have been working in the linguistic field since 2002, first as an English teacher in Poland for a few years and then, having lived in the UK for a couple of years, as an interpreter and occasional translator (starting 2008).
I worked first through some reputable agencies such as Language Empire and Cicero, doing frequent interpreting assignments, and after finishing an interpreting course in Poole and Bournemouth College with an NVQ3 interpreting / translation qualification, I was an associate and then a full member of Dorset's biggest linguist association, Bournemouth Interpreters' Group.
Since 2010, my career as a freelance interpreter / translator had certainly gained more momentum and recently I busy myself with a good amount of healthcare interpreting, local authority interpreting and legal interpreting, as well as legal translations (with 2 large legal jobs completed recently), private assignments and others.
I look forward to acquiring more work, including in specialised fields. English has been my primary language for 14 years - when it comes to frequency of use, and the language of professional use for 17 years+. I studied it since I was about 10, so I am not a native speaker of English.
Although I use English most of the time, my Polish is kept "in full working order" by conversing with my family and friends frequently, occasionally watching films and videos in Polish, and reading websites and books from time to time.
