My name is Dario Martiradonna, I was born in Bari, in the South of Italy, 28 years ago.
Since I was a child I always loved science and nature, I was really interested in understanding the mechanics underling the complexity of life. This passion helped me making the right choices for my education.
I attended the High School for Science and Technology in Bari from 2000 to 2005, achieving the Secondary School Diploma with the highest grades. Then I went to College and enrolled in the Faculty of Biotechnologies- medical curriculum. In three years, form 2005 to 2008, I graduated in Health and Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies, a bachelor’s degree, followed by a graduation with honors in a master’s degree, Medical Biotechnologies and Molecular Medicine, in 2011. The object of both my thesis was Molecular Biology, the bachelor’s degree was entitled “Identification and experimental validation of specific isoforms in normal and tumor conditions of TPM3 and SLC25A3 genes in the muscle”, while the master’s degree had as subject the “Large-scale Analysis of Expression Profiles of Cancer Cells Based on Data Generated by Exon Arrays”.
Due to underpaid and unsure work in the research field here in Bari and due to my personal aspirations, I proceeded attending a master post-degree in Quality Control and Food Certification from November 2011 to November 2012. This high professionalising course further opened my mind to self and continuous improvement of myself and of the organization I’ll work for, meanwhile I’ve obtained the professional certification of Internal Auditor for UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 standard. In the end, I completed the master post-degree with a six months’ stage at Alfrus Srl, a small manufacturing local entity, where I was able to practice notions learned throughout the master class and understand the different positions and responsabilities of the various business units, from accounting to producing. I was integrated with the CEOs and the highest functions of the factory in order to produce and analyse the whole business in its complexity and find solutions to problems and wastes.
Currently, I’ve just completed another master class in Quality-Environment-Safety-Social Accountability and I’m collaborating with an environment and safety advisor in managing a food industry of his customer portfolio.
In the translation industry I'm a freelance translator working for several translation agencies, such as Transperfect and Translated.
I’ve been a volounteer for disabled persons, helping them facing everyday life.
In my spare time, during High School and College but even now, I play a lot of board and browser games, such as Magic: The Gathering. While playing Magic The Gathering, I reach the 3rd position in Regional Tournaments, and 4th position in my home-city’s championship. I like to read books, listen to a lot of music and see movies.
