Bio
As a recent graduate from
an MA programme in Translation and Interpreting Studies, receiving a distinction in my extended translation project, I have freshly developed my knowledge and skills of translation and interpreting. Having studied Spanish and German for my BA Hons, I initially started teaching English in Spain and, later on, Austria. Living in countries where my chosen languages are spoken gave me with an insight into the 'real' language and culture. As well as teaching largely English for the past eight years, I have freelanced in academic and
professional editing, proofreading and translation. My translating interests are primarily in the arts and transcreation; I love a linguistic challenge, such as transferring humour and brand voice and I have a passion for translating Moorish poems. Slightly less creatively, I have also worked on projects of a technical nature, as well as a tourist-come-environmental one. I enjoy a range of different text types, as the variety makes for very interesting work.
