I am a freelancer translator from Jakarta, Indonesia. I have a Bachelor's degree and I had worked in the banking industry for a number of years as a banker and financial advisor in the past.
My experience as a translator happened by chance. In August of 2014, I had the opportunity to assist a George Washington University professor specializing in Religion & Social Studies. She was conducting a research in Indonesia on gender activism & gender equality. She had to interview several people from religious organizations as well as non-profit organizations for women in Jakarta. I was her translator and interpreter from Bahasa Indonesia to English and vice versa. Since then, I became interested in becoming a professional translator. And recently, I was accepted as a Junior Member of the Indonesian Translators Association. |
